There are many pros than cons to freelancing. The liberty to set your own working hours, getting rid of the long, boring and expensive commute, listening to loud music ALL the time and singing along :) keep chomping on chips, play with your pets in between breaks!..the list is endless...
Try making these a habit:
CREATE A PERSONALIZED ROUTINE
One of
the biggest boons is the freedom to work according to our own schedule, and personalizing this, as much as possible can help keep you on task!
If you
are an owl, don’t bug yourself to be up at 8 am!
Make a
cool ass timetable according to your habits.
COMPLETE THE TOUGH TASKS EARLY IN THE DAY.
If you
begin your day by facebooking, pinteresting, casually running through your inbox, SAVE
THIS FOR LATER! complete your design assignment / send the creatives out / made that imp
client call etc…
If there
is some work bothering you, do it straight away and you will have the rest of
the day to work on fun and relaxing tasks.

MAKE TO-DO LISTS
This is
the best and my favorite part! Making lists!!! ( Get a stack of bright post-its) Stressful freelancers are
usually masters of the classic to-do list. Make a list of long term goals as
well as daily tasks. Get colorful pens and trust me, once the task is
completed, ticking the boxes or simply scribbling colorful patches to strike off the task is a magical feeling!

SCHEDULE BREAKS
HAHHAHAHA!!
Why am I even mentioning this :P
But
taking breaks is essential for your mental well – being and ability to focus!
Take a walk around, answer some
personal emails, FACEBOOK, and yes, pets and chips!! CHOMP CHOMP…
WORK ACCORDING TO YOUR ENERGY LEVELS
Along these same lines, another habit to get into is to
schedule your work according to your natural energy ebb and flow. When you’re
tired and not able to produce your best creative work, stop working! as this
can end up wasting precious time that could be better used elsewhere.
DIVIDE YOUR ASSIGNMENTS
You are responsible not only for designing but also for finance, marketing, and sales that can feel like a
mountain of work.
When your work load seems
overwhelming, break it down into smaller pieces and create a work schedule
that’s not so intimidating. This gives you a series of small deadlines, helping
you stay on task.
